Why do People Start Lifestyle Blogs?
Blogging has become a popular way to document and share one’s experiences, thoughts, and opinions with an audience.
The rise of blogging has been credited to a number of factors: the popularity of social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, which have made it easier to share information with a wide audience; the ease of publishing content on the internet; the resulting democratization of content creation; and people’s desire for an outlet beyond social media.
It is estimated that there are over 1 billion blogs online today. Just think about that number for a minute – it’s huge!
Bloggers may be either journalists or individuals who have no particular qualifications or expertise in this area. In many cases, bloggers are just interested laypersons who have been drawn into this new mode of expression by virtue of being privy to digital technologies that facilitate it.
One of the reasons I started my lifestyle blog was to have a platform to write about things that interest me. It often seems like everyone has something to say about everything these days, especially when it comes to commenting on things that are shared on social media. Often these opinions can be mean or hurtful and based on something that the person commenting has seen in the news that can be biased, or even wrong or not true! I pride myself on not believing everything I read, checking things out myself and looking for different sources of information and then writing my own blog post in a fair, balanced and honest way.
So What Even is a Lifestyle Blog?
A lifestyle blog is a place where bloggers offer advice, tips, and tricks on various lifestyle-related topics. Lifestyle bloggers write about things that interest them, experiences they have had or are planning and things that they are passionate and/or knowledgeable about. There are many different lifestyles being covered by lifestyle bloggers, including fashion, food, parenting, relationships, travel and many, many more.
The recent rise of these bloggers has been attributed to the successes of style blogs who focus on typical female interests like clothing and relationships. Readers feel like they know personally bloggers that they read regularly. They will be influenced by what the blogger is telling them and often want to live the same lifestyle that their favourite blogger appears to be living.
As a result of this bloggers play a major role in society today in influencing trends or even creating trends and as such blogging can be a very profitable career for influencer bloggers who pair with brands to promote their products and services.
Because a blogger has already built know, like and trust with their audience they can help brands build the same know, like and trust with potential future customers so it’s a win, win for the blogger and the brand if they team up to work together!
How to Become a Successful Lifestyle Blogger – Insider Tips and Tricks!
Becoming a successful blogger takes time and effort. However, with the right tools and knowledge, you can speed up the process and start turning your blog into a profitable business.
Lifestyle blogging is not an easy task. You need to know what your readers want and give them great content that they will love in order to grow your blog following. This can be difficult if you’re starting from scratch, but it doesn’t have to be hard when you follow these tips:
1) Decide what your niche is going to be (fashion, food, beauty etc) – make sure that there is a demand for this in the market and that it is something you either already know a lot about, or can learn easily.
2) Create content that answers questions – write about topics that people actually care about and want to share their thoughts on.
3) Buy a memorable domain and web hosting to give your blog a home.
4) Figure out which bits of blogging you enjoy and which you don’t enjoy, or just eat up all your time. Outsource the bits you don’t enjoy (for example building the website, SEO optimization, keyword research etc) so that you can focus on writing about things that interest you and building your audience.
